What data is processed on our website?

Collection of general information when you visit our website

When you access our website, your browser automatically transmits data to our server that is technically necessary to display this website to you. Our server and the reverse proxy in front of it process the following personal connection data and store it in log files:

  • your IP address,
  • the date and time of access,
  • the requested address (URL),
  • the referrer URL, i.e. the page you visited before, if your browser transmits it,
  • the user agent of your browser (browser type and version, operating system),
  • the HTTP status code of the response, and
  • the amount of data transferred.

This data is processed for the following purposes:

  • delivering the website to your browser,
  • ensuring that a connection can be established without problems and that our website can be used smoothly, and
  • ensuring system security and stability, for example to detect and fend off attacks.

This data is processed pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing our website securely and reliably.

We do not use your data to draw conclusions about you as a person. The data is not evaluated for statistical or marketing purposes.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The servers are located in data centres in Germany. When you access our website, Hetzner processes on our behalf the data that your browser transmits automatically, in particular your IP address.

The processing is based on our legitimate interest in providing our website securely and reliably (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR). We have concluded a data processing agreement with Hetzner pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Your data is not transferred to third countries. Further information can be found in Hetzner’s privacy policy.

Contact by email or phone

If you contact us by email or phone, we process the data you provide to us in doing so, such as your name, your email address or phone number and the content of your enquiry. We use this data exclusively to process and answer your enquiry. The processing is carried out pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR on the basis of our legitimate interest in processing and answering your enquiry. If you contact us to request a quotation, the processing is carried out in order to take steps prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR).

How long do we store your data?

All data that you provide to us is deleted as soon as it is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected. The log files on our server have a fixed maximum size. Older connection data in them is overwritten automatically on an ongoing basis.

To whom do we disclose your data?

The protection of your data is important to us. For this reason, we do not sell, trade or rent your data. For certain technical data processing operations, we use the support of external service providers who act on our behalf as processors pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. They are bound to strict confidentiality and process data only on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions.

Processors we use

We use Hetzner Online GmbH as a processor for hosting this website (see Hosting).

Except in the cases explained in this privacy notice, we only disclose data to third parties without your express consent if we are obliged to do so by law or by an order of a public authority or a court.

Cookies and local storage

The website of YUM GmbH does not use cookies. We use neither tracking cookies nor analytics cookies. Your privacy is important to us, which is why we deliberately refrain from using cookies.

Only if you press the High contrast switch do we store your choice in your browser’s local storage, so that it is kept on your next visit. The entry is called yum-contrast and has the value more or normal. It contains no personal data and is not transmitted to our server. Storing it is strictly necessary to provide the function you requested (§ 25 (2) No. 2 TDDDG). You can delete the entry at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.

Web analytics and tracking

We do not use any web analytics tools such as Google Analytics or similar services. No usage data is collected or evaluated for analytics purposes.

SSL/TLS encryption

To protect the security of your data during transmission, we use state-of-the-art encryption methods (SSL/TLS) via HTTPS.

  • rectification of inaccurate personal data (Art. 16 GDPR),
  • erasure of the data we hold about you (Art. 17 GDPR),
  • restriction of data processing where we are not yet permitted to erase your data due to legal obligations (Art. 18 GDPR),
  • objection to the processing of your data by us (Art. 21 GDPR), and

What right to object do you have in individual cases?

You have the right to object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of personal data concerning you which is based on Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR; this also applies to profiling based on this provision within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 4 GDPR. If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless:

  • we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or
  • the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

The objection can be made in any form and should preferably be addressed to our data protection officer:
